Workshop: Shaping the Future of Thermoelectric Applications
15 September 2026 | 17:15 – 18:15
Co-located with ECT2026
As part of the SUSTENET activities taking place alongside the European Conference on Thermoelectrics (ECT2026) in Edinburgh, participants are invited to attend also the WG3 Fostering Forum, an interactive session dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship, investment, and career development in the thermoelectric sector.
The Fostering Forum will bring together experts from industry, academia, start-ups, and finance to share their experiences on translating thermoelectric research into commercial opportunities, building successful businesses, attracting investment, and developing careers within the growing thermoelectric ecosystem.
The distinguished panel will be including:
- Hao Yin – Entrepreneur and company founder specialising in thermoelectric technologies, TEGnology ApS, Denmark
- Raúl Aragonés – CEO & CSO, AEInnova; Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain
- Vicente Pacheco – Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden, Germany
- Richard Tuley – European Thermodynamics Ltd; Queen Mary University of London, UK
- Llesh Lleshaj – Associate Professor in Quantitative Finance, Faculty of Economy, University of Tirana, Albania
- Marko Ilić – University of Niš, Serbia
The session will provide valuable insights for early-career researchers, established scientists, technology developers, and entrepreneurs interested in advancing thermoelectric technologies beyond the laboratory and into real-world applications.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the panel members, discuss challenges and opportunities facing the sector, and gain a better understanding of routes to commercialisation, investment, and professional development.
The WG3 Fostering Forum complements the SUSTENET technical workshops organised during ECT2026 and contributes to the network’s mission of strengthening collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building across the European thermoelectric community.
The event is open to all ECT2026 participants and invited SUSTENET members.
You can download the programme of the workshop in pdf format here.
